Hi, I’m Drew — founder of Big Idea Design.
I help organizations use AI without compromising the quality of their presentations, reports, and branded materials.
Before working full-time as a designer, I trained and worked as an urban planner. That background taught me how to communicate ideas where clarity truly matters—whether explaining the neighborhood impacts of a new transit line, presenting complex policy decisions, or visualizing financial strategies for investors.
For nearly 20 years, I’ve used design and systems thinking to turn complexity into understanding. My work focuses on creating materials that help people grasp key ideas quickly, trust what they’re seeing, and take action with confidence.
Today, that means helping organizations adapt to AI-driven workflows while maintaining the quality standards their business depends on.
In addition to my independent practice, I’m also part of Umbrella Creative, a collaborative team that allows me to scale support for larger engagements requiring broader communication strategy, video, or animation.
I’m based between Portland, Oregon and Barcelona, Spain, and work with clients globally.
