Project Background
Mission:
Design and build a custom AI-powered deck generation system for the Banner sales team that produces consistent, on-brand presentation decks.
Challenge:
Following a recent brand refresh, the Banner sales team began using AI to accelerate proposal deck creation. While AI improved speed and content quality, early outputs introduced inconsistencies in tone, layout, and brand application. The team needed a solution that could harness AI at full capacity while keeping every output within strict brand standards — and that was simple enough for any marketer to use without technical knowledge.
Solution:
Big Idea Design designed and built the Banner Deck Engine — a custom AI-powered application embedded directly into Google Slides as a native Google Workspace add-on.
The tool guides users through a four-stage workflow from a branded sidebar: brief the AI, review and approve the outline, apply copy to the deck, and apply images from Banner's approved asset library. Every stage runs inside Google Slides — no external tools, no manual prompting, no design work required.
Under the hood, the Deck Engine connects to a custom cloud infrastructure that routes requests to Claude, Banner's AI of choice, using a proprietary prompt architecture developed specifically for Banner's sales narrative and brand voice. The template system uses a pattern library of branded slide layouts, each tagged with metadata that guides the AI's layout and content decisions automatically.
The result is a purpose-built piece of software that exists nowhere else on the market — a fully integrated AI deck generation system that combines a robust branded template with live AI drafting capabilities, all within the tools Banner's team already uses every day.
Results
The new system is now being used to generate sales presentation decks through Claude, enabling faster production of on-brand materials while maintaining consistency across structure, tone, and visual language.
Early use indicates a significant reduction in manual assembly and review cycles, with teams able to move from content generation to presentation-ready output within a streamlined workflow.
After
Template development, workflow, and prompt optimization.

Before
With raw inputs to AI without prompt or template optimization.
